Kamuela Hardwoods
Kamuela Hardwoods and Parker Ranch jointly created a new company aimed at milling, processing and marketing sustainably sourced specialty hardwoods and salvaged timber, which prioritizes the availability of wood to local businesses, craftspeople, artisans and musical instrument makers.
The partnership venture is an integral component of Parker Ranch’s strategic forestry initiatives and will leverage the exceptional experience and expertise of Kamuela Hardwoods’ team. We recognize the importance of forests in our ecosystem and in maintaining a healthy environment.
Kamuela Hardwoods is a past recipient of the County of Hawai‘i Mayor’s Sustainability Achievement Award. This award recognizes the companies’ achievements in advancing the global movement for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the most transformative, impactful, and innovative way. Kamuela Hardwoods is also a proud recipient of the Hawaii State Trade Expansion (HISTEP), the Manufacturing Assistance Program, as well as the US Forest Service Wood Innovation Grants.

Waimea Butcher Shop
Waimea Butcher Shop and Parker Ranch formed an alliance that supports the strategic priorities of investing in Waimea, supporting the local agriculture ecosystem, and sustainability. Waimea Butcher Shops vision is to run a sustainable, locally sourced business that only offers products from the Big Island. This partnership provides beef from different ranch brands based on the principle of “open” architecture to help ranches develop their brands and obtain access to retail customers.
Consumers have a keen interest in knowing the origins of the food they consume and the producers’ production methods. Aligned with this knowledge is a desire to “eat local” buying local food instead of imported products aligns with the Parker Ranch’ goal of providing local sustainable food sources. Waimea Butcher Shop caters to the discerning customer who wants to know that the product they are buying and feeding to their families has integrity, authenticity, and a genuine story.
