Artist Ian Haight Hosted by Puuopelu Gallery

In the upcoming months, visitors to Parker Ranch’s Puuopelu Gallery might feel wiped out by an eight foot wave or that they could reach out and touch a Hawaiian Monk Seal. Such is the reality of Ian Haight’s acrylic paintings, guest artist at the Historic Home gallery during September and October.

Haight’s art comes from his life experiences as a surfer and island person. His bold colors and themes include surf, Big Island landscapes, native Hawaiian wildlife and scenes from numerous surf trips around the world. “Helping to heighten awareness of the special environment we have here is important to me,” Haight expresses. A new venture in to pencil and charcoal drawings will be part of his Historic Home showing.
