Horseback Riding
Visitors now have a rare opportunity to explore areas of the approximately 150,000-acre
Minimum age requirement is 7 years and older making this an ideal family activity, whether family members are beginners, intermediate or advanced riders. Cowboys of Hawaii at Parker Ranch can arrange private rides for special excursions. Exclusive Japanese-speaking rides are also available.
Riders will feel like Hawaiian paniolo (cowboys) as they ride through old stone corrals where up to 5,000 Hereford cattle were once rounded up after being brought down from the slopes of Mauna Kea. A visit to the rodeo arena and racetrack where Parker Ranch Thoroughbreds were trained and still hold the record for speed is included in the excursion. Rides all begin at the Blacksmith Shop on Pukalani Road. Click for map and directions.
Price:
Cost is $79.00 per person for each of the two rides offered. Prices are subject to change and do not include Hawaii state tax.
Times:
Rides are available two times daily at 8:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Morning and noon rides are 2 hours duration.
