The Parker Ranch Cattle Country Tour is our premium tour that explores the 160 plus years of history and operations at Hawaii’s oldest working cattle ranch, Parker Ranch. Guests will visit historical and operational areas of Parker Ranch, many not open to the general public, while learning the amazing saga of the Parker family and the history of its proud and skillful cowboys, the Paniolo.

The Parker Ranch Mana Tour is explores the 160 plus years of history and operations at Hawaii’s oldest working cattle ranch, Parker Ranch. Guests will visit historical and operational areas of Parker Ranch, many not open to the general public, while learning the amazing saga of the Parker family and the history of its proud and skillful cowboys, the Paniolo.

Visit the historic home of John Parker, Mana Hale, “house of the spirit,” which was once the center of activity for Parker Ranch. In the late nineteenth century, it was widely known for the hospitality of John Parker’s grandson, Sam, and his wife, Panana, who had begun to entertain lavishly shortly after their marriage. Now you can visit and see the native koa wood interiors, handmade furniture and Hawaiian quilts. Enjoy the story of John Palmer Parker who befriended King Kamehameha, married a Hawaiian Princess and built Hawaii’s cattle kingdom.

Horseback Rides give visitors the chance to feel like Hawaiian paniolo (cowboys) as they ride through old stone corrals where up to 5,000 Hereford cattle were rounded up after being brought down from the slopes of Mauna Kea. A visit to the rodeo arena and racetrack where Parker Ranch Thoroughbreds were trained and still hold the record for speed is included in the excursion.

ATV Rides offer visitors an opportunity to explore areas of the vast working ranch. Two scenic routes are available. Both provide visitors the opportunity to learn firsthand about Parker Ranch and its absorbing history while observing beautiful landscapes, stunning vistas and a variety of plant life.
